NAPCS hosted its 3rd Annual Felicitation Ceremony of the newly selected Civil Service officers with grandeur

The “The Theatre” hall of the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi hosted the grand 3rd Annual Felicitation Ceremony on the 20th August 27, 2017 which was organized by the NAPCS in association with the Ekta Foundation. The ceremony was in the honor of the newly selected civil service candidates. It was a congregation of more than 150 civil service officers, academicians and scholars belonging to various departments and disciplines gathered together to celebrate the success of the candidates by felicitating them along with their families. The occasion was graced by presence of members of civil societies from all over the country inter alia Dr Ambedkar Mahasangh Sonipat, Ambedkar Education Society Faridabad and few NGOs. The hall had a seating capacity of 110 was packed to its full capacity.

The event began with the masters of the ceremony Shri Anuj Swarup, IFS, Shri Rahul Narwal, IAS, Ms Ankita Anand, IAS and Dr. Pooja Paswan , Assistant Professor, Jamia Millia Islamia introducing themselves. Shri Anuj Swarup started by iterating the purpose of the event and invited Shri Sarvagya Bairwa who is from Indian Railway Service 1993 batch to deliver the welcome address. Shri Bairwa welcomed the guests and congratulated the newly selected officers and their families on their tremendous success. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the guests who took out time from their busy schedule on a Sunday morning to stand in solidarity for the cause which NAPCS represents.

The ceremony was then followed by the lighting of the lamp and the garlanding of the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by the newly selected batch of young officers remembering the great statesman and one of the intelligentsia of the world on this occasion. Thereafter, a recitation of the preamble to the Constitution of India by the guests imparted a veil of serenity to the event. The spirit of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was evoked as the words of the preamble reverberated through the hall. After the solemn recitation of the preamble, Shri Deepak Kadam from Ambedkarwadi Mission was offered a token of gratitude by the NAPCS. After which the guest proceeded for high tea which was served in the outside foyer.The post tea session started with a presentation encapsulating the arduous journey of the Mock Interview Program (MIP) given by Dr. Ranjeeta ICAS and another officers. They enunciated the tremendous amount of effort and commitment of several officers and academicians to help realize the dream of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to educate, agitate and organize.

The felicitation of the successful candidates followed shortly after the presentation. The candidates who were felicitated werenamely Mr. Ashish Kumar, Mr. Dharam Raj, Ms. Divya Mrugeshan, Ms. Ekta Singh, Mr. Harish Tanwar, Mr. Nasir Muner, Mr. Prashant Jilova, Ms. Prerna Singh, Mr. Shashank Chaudhary, Mr. Siddharth Kumar, Ms. Sonalika Jiwani. The senior civil servants and academicians who felicitated the newly selected officers were Shri. Mahendra Ranga, IRS, Shri Narottam Das, IRSE, Shri S.K. Mathur IFS, Shri H.P.Kain IRS, Shri Devender Chaudhary IAS, Shri Narender Kumar Morpriya, Shri Prem Prakash IPS, Ms Hemali Dabi IES, Dr. Devyani Khobragade IFS, Shri Dilraj Prabhakar IFS, Mrs. Vimla Nawaria ICAS, Prof Devendra DU, Prof Veeramani Jamia Millia Islamia, Shri Dusmanta Kumar Behra IAS and several other officers and academicians. The audience was regaled with the stories of struggle, perseverance and iron clad determination of the candidates to crack the toughest exam in the world. The senior civil servants shared their relevant insights about the life in service. After the exchange of experiences and aspirations, a presentation on the history of NAPCS was delivered by senior officers. The presentation was a true testimony of the fact “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. The speakers enlightened the audience about the inception of the NAPCS group right from its origin as a Facebook page to an All India conglomeration of civil servants across the nation tirelessly committed towards the realization of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar’s dream. This ceremony was an exemplification of sheer determination and persistence to showcase the hosting of NAPCS 3rd Felicitation Ceremony on a grand scale. After the presentation Ms. Binita Devi IRS and Sh Vinayak Azad IRS addressed the gathering on relevant current issues having long term implication on the society. Dr. Shyam Dadwal IRS who are associated as one of the mentors of Ekta group deliberated upon Ekta Navnirman Trust and its activities like mentoring young talents, skill development of youth, spreading scientific temperament through seminars, workshops and organizing sports. They are also running similar mock interview programme for RPSC candidates in Jaipur. After the conclusion of the presentation, a vote of thanks was delivered where the speaker eloquently complimented Shri Rubal Singh, IRS, Dr. Shyam Dadwal IRS, Sh Rajesh Kumar IRS, Dr. Devender Tanwar, Associate Professor in Dr Ambedkar International Centre and Dr. Ramesh ITS for their excellent team and exceptional event management. He also thanked the masters of the ceremony Shri Rahul Narwal, IAS, Shri Anuj Swarup IFS, Miss Ankita Anand IAS, Dr. Pooja Paswan, Assistant Professor, Jamia Millia Islamia, for the on stage management and Ms. Reshu and Ms. Nisha for management of the registration and front desk and the rest of the organising team for putting the show together. Thereby, he invited the guests for lunch which was served outside in the foyer.

Post lunch, the general body meeting of NAPCS commenced where Shri S. Gagarin IRTS, Shri Devender Chaudhary IAS, Dr. Shyam Dadwal IRS, Shri B. Ram IRS, Ms. Anjali Rajoria IAS, Dr. Sanghmitra Senior Fellow ICSSR and Shri O.P. Dhama of Dr. Ambedkar Club Faridabad discussed the various issues and challenges of the services. Members also deliberated on the future course of NAPCS. The gathering was also addressed by noted Sociologist Prof Vivek Kumar JNU. The evening concluded with a high tea and in high spirits.
